ARADEX at the Powerday of Henkelhausen in Krefeld

What comes after diesel? This was the motto of the “Powerday” event held by our partner Henkelhausen in Krefeld. A joint exchange around alternative drive solutions. Almost 100 visitors followed the invitation, including our CEO Dr. Stefan Hellfeld and Stephan Hähnle (Head of Sales). They presented on site our solutions in mobile drive technology: inverters and DC/DC converters for the electrification and hybridization of commercial vehicles, construction machinery and ships.

In the picture above, Joscha Schröder (Henkelhausen) shows an application that was jointly realized by Henkelhausen and ARADEX. Target of the application: The vehicle still has a combustion engine. This is to be optimized at the point of operation. This means that if the combustion engine becomes very inefficient – for example, at low speed but maximum torque – the electric motor boosts the same motor shaft as the combustion engine in order to push the combustion engine into a more favorable efficiency range. Conversely, there is also the case where the combustion engine would simply burn fuel at idle, but still creates some power that would simply dissipate into the environment, so the energy is then converted by the e-motor – working as a generator – and transported to the battery.
