Last Wednesday, the official opening of the transformation exhibition took place in the foyer of the IHK Heidenheim. An exhibition with 16 transformation stories of regional companies, divided into the following four areas:
- Climate Protection & Sustainability
- Innovation & Digitalization
- Start-up & Business Models
- People & Qualification
Ulrich Betzold (Managing Director Arnulf Betzold GmbH and Vice President of IHK Ostwürttemberg) welcomed the numerous guests and appealed to the importance of change, of transformation. The companies present then gave insights into their respective transformation stories. For most companies, the biggest challenge is to move away from the combustion engine and develop new business models. Increasing the attractiveness of the labor market – for some of the exhibitors, another impetus for transformation: How can two company locations be brought together? What benefits can I offer my employees?
Marcel Nasser (Marketing Coordinator ARADEX) focused on the transformation with regard to cooperation with WEICHAI. The focus was on the hybrid commissioning of an electrified bulldozer over long distances and under pandemic conditions. This provided the impetus for the expansion and use of further digital tools such as cloud and software solutions that facilitate and optimize cooperation across continents and time zones.
IHK Managing Director Thilo Rentschler concluded with a report on the East Wuerttemberg region’s recent trip to Berlin. “Our region is facing major challenges,” added Rentschler, looking back on the major structural change in North Rhine-Westphalia in the 1980s and the hurdles the region still faces in some areas today. It was therefore important not to stop at the visit to Berlin, but to remain in contact and in exchange with the important decision-makers at the highest political level.
