New Red Cross ambulance station in Lorch

Every second counts when it comes to saving lives! The emergency response time for the ambulance service in Baden-Württemberg has recently been reduced from 15 to 12 minutes. This period includes the time from the receipt of an emergency call and the subsequent deployment, including the time it takes for the emergency services to arrive at the scene. Those responsible in the Ostalbkreis district set out to find a suitable location. And our company location in Lorch was predestined for this. Part of our building was little used. “The cold hall plus the office building Ziegelwaldstrasse 20 was no longer really used,” explains CEO Dr. Stefan Hellfeld. Discussions took place quickly and so, since March 11, 2025, part of one of our ARADEX buildings has been home to a Red Cross ambulance station. With the new location, the Red Cross sees itself excellently positioned, initially as a temporary solution for two years, with an ambulance service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At the opening ceremony, DRK President Christian Baron declared: “Great location, easy to find – excellently positioned with direct access to the B29 and B297.” Mayor Marita Funk called the new rescue station a milestone, more security for Lorch and the surrounding area. She expressed her special thanks to ARADEX for the pragmatic approach and quick implementation. “This ensures good and fast care!”

Thomas Wagenblast (district representative) added that the new rescue station is an important part of the prevention and safety of the western part of the Ostalbkreis: “A strategically perfect location! My thanks for the quick implementation to all involved.” Hans-Joachim Seuferlein (Managing Director of AOK Ostwürttemberg and Chairman of the Regional Committee) concluded by addressing the importance of shortening the response times. There is still a need for optimization in the state rescue service plan to improve the arrival and pre-hospital time.
