Electrical mobility test benches

ARADEX offers various components for use in test benches. The spectrum ranges from inverters for driving the dynamometer to a power-saving package solution consisting of a DC source, inverter and dynamometer. 

The ARADEX package solution with DC source, inverter and electric motor is used e.g. in test benches for the drive components of hybrid and electric vehicles. This allows energy-efficient test benches to be set up. 

The illustration above shows a diagram of such an energy-efficient solution. Details on the different expansion stages are found in the flyer shown on the left. 

The direct exchange of energy between motor-driven and regenerative-driven inverters is ideal for energy-efficient test bench applications. Energy is exchanged via the mechanical coupling of the electric motors. The energy flow closes via the DC source. 

The energy required for the test remains in the test bench system – only the losses are taken from the mains supply. Only one mains connection is used to cover these losses – with considerably less power than the dynamometers. This saves energy and costs.
