
Inverters for electric motor test benches
ARADEX technology is found in electric motor test benches used for development as well as for durability and series tests. VECTODRIVE® inverters and VECTONUM® controls offer a dynamic and precise control as well as a large performance range.
- In development test benches, the ARADEX drives score points with their enormous flexibility – in respect to hardware and software.
- In series test benches, the VECTODRIVE® inverters also stand out due to their high availability.
Advantages
- With cycle times of a few μs, the VECTODRIVE® current controller is optimally suited to extremely dynamic applications with high electrical frequencies such as e.g. multi-pole and high-speed electric machines.
- The ARADEX components provide a dynamic and precise control as well as a large performance range, ideal for test benches used to test components of the electric vehicle drive train.
- The vector-controlled VECTODRIVE® inverter has a precise speed and torque control. This allows torque response times of 0.1 to 0.4 ms.
- Complex motor model for direct and precise starting of specified torques.
- An effective motor protection function prevents damage to the dynamometer and test object.
Application
- VECTODRIVE® inverters are also used in test benches for high-speed electric motors (e.g. for electric motors for a hybrid drive with 14,000 rpm and 260 kW or 22,000 rpm with 150 kW).
- The ARADEX package solution with DC source, inverter and electric motor is used e.g. in test benches for the drive components of hybrid and electric vehicles. This allows energy-efficient test benches to be set up.
Electric motors as a dynamometer
A suitable electric motor for generating the load can be supplied by the ARADEX motor partners upon request. The electric motors offer high speeds and torques. There are synchronous motors and asynchronous motors available.
