Reliable hybrid drive

As a development partner for prototypes and small series, ARADEX develops reliable solutions for hybrid drives, based on VECTOPOWER inverters and electric motors that have been specially developed for mobile applications.

Dynamic and precise energy management

The interaction of a combustion and electric motor must be precisely coordinated and controlled. An especially important factor is the power management with higher drive outputs up into the megawatt range, e.g. in diesel-electric ships. 

The dynamic VECTOPOWER control coordinates the combustion and electric motor very precisely. As a result, the hybrid drive reacts quickly to the respective driving condition. A reliable 4-quadrant operation is therefore possible even with fast and high torque changes.

Various energy stores can be used: e.g. batteries, supercapacitors or flywheel storages. The VECTOPOWER power management is already in use in hybrid drives for utility vehicles, ships and rail vehicles. 

High outputs with a compact design

The precisely coordinated VECTOPOWER system has very good characteristics and a high efficiency at all operating points of the hybrid drive. The dielectric strength of up to 720 V DC allows a high-voltage on-board system with sufficient energy to supply auxiliary units and accessories. The VECTOPOWER electric drive manages motor as well as generator operation. This allows you to realize a powerful hybrid drive.

Customized generators and electric motors

Each hybrid drive has different requirements, and for this reason, the VECTOPOWER electric motors are available in different versions:

The VECTOPOWER generators and electric motors are available with various diameters, construction lengths and housing variants.

VECTOPOWER special-purpose motors

Special-purpse motors, e.g. electric motors with a diameter of up to 760 mm, have already been implemented. Variants with a high number of positions have also been realized. Electric motors with a higher output from connecting a VECTOPOWER inverter to each partial winding are also possible.
